Finance Explained : Education-centred Strategic Financial Planning

The 'Finance Explained' course is a whole day workshop, immersing you in the world of school finance and integrated curriculum and financial planning.

Education-centred strategic financial planning places your knowledge of your pupils and community at the heart of funding projections and curriculum and staffing choices.

During the day we will look at how the school funding system works, the latest policy decisions, the role played by national and local government and by your colleagues locally, and how you can influence the outcome for your school.

With staffing accounting for the majority of spending in schools, the workshop will look at how to bring education and finance decisions together, to maximise the cost-effective use of resources and help you achieve both educational and financial sustainability.

For those who already carry the full responsibility for the school budget, the day will help embed a strategic and integrated approach.

If you are a member of the school senior leadership team and want to take more responsibility, support the head and business manager and/or develop your skills and experience for your next role, the day will be an eye-opener and all-round awareness session that will be invaluable to you as your school plans next years budget over the coming months.

This course is for:

Senior Leaders or aspiring leaders of Primary and Secondary Schools.
