A Centre for Research in Early Childhood (REaCh) event for settings, researchers and students
Bath Spa University warmly invites you to attend a day of dialogue and debate on current projects, which focus on participation in early childhood research. The day will include presentations from researchers, educators and students who will discuss their experiences of research that foregrounds multiple perspectives to deepen understanding and make meaning.

10.15-11.00 Children's Visible Voices: Reflecting Together on Children's Setting-based Experiences

This session will explore research which focuses on how practitioners use video of children to enable reflection upon their practice. We will share our findings on engaging in open and honest reflection as a staff team and on how parents and children are seen as active participants in this process.

11.20 - 12.00 Video Reflective Dialogues: Making Meaning Through Entangled Perspectives

This presentation will show how intra-actions between practitioners, video and researcher promoted collective, critical reflection and facilitated sustained changes to practice. It will also demonstrate how Video Reflective Dialogues led to shared understandings of pedagogy which supports early science enquiry.
