Our Up-skilling course is for secondary language teachers who wish to acquire a third or fourth language to teach to Key Stage 3 students. The course takes into account the fact that delegates already have advanced language-learning skills, understand grammatical structures and wish to fast-track their learning. This course is for language teachers with no previous knowledge of Spanish.

This course focuses on:

• confidence in oral fluency
• phonetics, pronunciation and intonation
• speaking and listening skills
• reading and writing skills
• grammatical structures and tenses
• acquiring vocabulary and structures aligned to the Key Stage 3 curriculum

We also offer a level 2 course as a follow up to the above or for those teachers who already have a basic knowledge of Spanish and wish to teach Key Stage 4 students.

This course will be online:-

• speaker teaching via webcam, accompanied by slides
• small group with lots of opportunity for delegate speaking, questions and comments
• all resources and a copy of the slides will be made available to delegates afterwards.

Each of the three days will follow the format below:

Session 1 : 9.45am - 11.15am (1.5 hours)
Session 2 : 11.45am - 1.15pm (1.5 hours)
Session 3 : 2.00pm - 3.30pm (1.5 hours)

Presenter Profile

Adam Samuel has taught EFL in both Spain & UK and Spanish Key stages 3,4, and 5 in the UK. He has a BA in European studies and completed his PGCE at Bath Spa university. Over the last seven years he has lived and worked in Spain – teaching EFL in a language academy and General, Business English and Spanish online. He has also been involved in the creation of online language learning resources and platforms.
