  • Opportunities for delegate questions and comments
  • A copy of the slides will be made available after the course, along with further materials

Geography is a misunderstood subject and if we are not careful we can find the geography taken out of the geography curriculum.

This webinar will explore how teachers can develop their thinking behind the geography curriculum and ensure that they can clearly articulate their intent as well as having a plan for making that intent a reality. It will consider how a knowledge-based curriculum can be created in such a way to lead to pupils having access to powerful knowledge which will transform the way they see the world.

This will be a practical session which will take teachers through a series of steps that will help them to evaluate and build up their own curriculum. It will consider how we can transform the national curriculum at all key stages into something that comes alive in our classroom.

Who will benefit and course aims

This session is suitable for all teachers of geography and heads of department in secondary schools as well as subject leads in primary schools. At the end of this session those attending should have a clear understanding of the thinking and theory that sits behind a geography curriculum as well as a plan for how to implement it in their own school.
