The new GCSE and Outstanding Curriculum Design for KS3 and KS4

This is a one day course split over two days, running at 4pm to 6:30pm on both days.

Part 1: What to change and what to keep?

In this session we answer this question with expert analysis and practical steps to help all language teachers and leaders approach the new GCSE with confidence, knowing that their KS3 teaching equips students of all abilities with the secure knowledge they need to succeed, and the motivation to sustain them through KS4 and beyond.

Part 2: Practice that makes progress

In this session we explore practical ideas for teaching languages at KS3 with the new GCSE in view and unpack the game-changing implications of learning languages with a precisely defined content. Ideas include rich practice activities for grammar, phonics, speaking/listening and reading that level the playing field for students of all abilities.
