Presenter Profile
Erica Sánchez is Head of Languages at a lovely school in Barnsley and the founder of spanishandumbrellas.com, where she supports language teachers nationwide through courses, mentoring, workshops, and high-quality classroom resources.
She is passionate about teaching and learning, and about building positive, meaningful relationships with her students. Erica believes that strong connections are at the heart of successful learning and is deeply committed to achieving excellent outcomes for all. She is dedicated to helping young people grow in confidence, resilience, and ambition so they can succeed not only in examinations, but in life beyond the classroom.
Erica qualified at the University of Reading in 2015 and has taught Spanish, French, and German, including A-level Spanish. She became Head of Department for Spanish and French in July 2024, having previously served as Second in Department since 2017.
She holds an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Granada, completed the NPQLTD in 2024, and has worked as a BBC GCSE educational consultant. Erica coaches and trains teachers across the country and has presented for Linguascope, Languagenut, Harris Academies, Discovery the World Education, the University of Sheffield, and The Language Show 2024.
